Bumper cars!

Bumper cars and the "fast" roller coaster were the two rides Isaiah immediately named when we got into the park and I asked what he'd like to ride. The bumper cars were so much fun, even though pushing the pedal and turning the wheel weren't intuitive, he rode them twice. And you should have seen his face when the car took off, even if he was headed straight for a crash with the wall. Pure joy.

Rides

Ultimately, she did not ride the caterpillar train. The swings operator had to stop the ride to let the yelling girl off.
But she did like driving the Corvette convertible and riding the horsies.

A day at the beach

Pete and Magda took us along on one of their forays to Robert Moses State Park. The waves were strong, Bernadette still doesn't like the water and we all had a great time. Plus we ate some tasty sandwiches made by PT.

For the birds

Duck, pigeon, bird! Bernadette loves poultry. And she didn't want to say good night to them at the fair. I had to carry her out.

Here she is chasing a gull at the beach.

Faces at the fair

We went to the fair in Terryville on Friday night. In addition to the treats and lumberjacks and animals and truck pull, the kids posed for some pictures.

Basketball

Richard (shooting) is a lot better than Isaiah. Of course, he's two years older. Still, Isaiah was getting into the game with Richard, Jim and Carol.

Isaiah decided the track needed a finish line and pits. One strip, not two for the finish line. My suggestion of a checkered pattern was accepted. The pits had to go in front of the strip that indicates where the fans sit. Sometimes he puts dominoes there as bleachers.

Closeup of the pits: They have numbers or letters, dictated by Isaiah. The one marked 25 is actually car No. 52.

Helping out

Isaiah is pretty handy with an empty cooler. He's still having difficulty picking up a full one.

Cement mixer

You've probably never seen boys as excited as these guys.
The view is great. I climbed up to stand up there with Bernadette.
She also got to drive.

Running up and down

What's a flatbed towtruck good for? Well, it provides a fun running spot.

Sonrisas

Here is our little crew that meets every Wednesday to practice Spanish together.  Bernadette gets so excited when we pull up in the Muros' driveway or when I tell her I've just buzzed them into our building that she starts bouncing and yelling, "Hola! Hola!"

In the photo: After our Spanish lesson, Trinity, Melody, Isaiah, Lucia, and Bernadette enjoy an episode of Salsa, a Spanish public television show similar to Sesame Street.
