Last night, sometime after 9, Marian asked, "Is there an off switch?"

She went to bed. Young Isaiah and I continued to play. At 10:45, I noted the time and an untired youngster. 

I guess we need to climb more stairs in the evening.

Baseball

So far Isaiah's best pitch is the spitball.

Sleepy time

After being nursed into submission at 60 mph, Isaiah finally fell asleep last night on the way home from Danbury. He was worn out enough that he barely cracked his eyes on the way in and went right back to sleep once he had his diaper changed.

Summer in the city

Isaiah looks like he had fun a week ago with Marian and Grandma Tascio.

Keep on moving

Wheels or no wheels, Isaiah keeps Grandpa Tascio moving.

Remember a summer night, air flying past your face as you swooped back and forth, leaning back to look at the sky, hoping to go higher? Having a kid transports me back to so many memories of childhood.

Cycling through

Grandpa Tascio helped Isaiah play with another of the great contraptions at the DiDonas. He can't reach the pedals, but Isaiah's definitely interested in this trike.

He saw a couple of moms pushing kids in plastic cars when he and I went for a walk Monday night, and he wanted to kick the little girls out and take over the wheel. He's definitely remembering things he liked.

Give me the keys

Isaiah did a little driving in New Jersey on Saturday at the DiDonas. Robby and Becky have three girls, which meant new-to-Isaiah toys for the little guy to chew on. After I pushed the girls around him a few times (more, faster, etc.), he was ready for a ride. Since he didn't understand when I told him to pick up his feet, we mostly went in reverse.

This morning in church, he demonstrated a new trick. There was plenty of applause leading into the service because Archbishop Dolan visited with all the requisite welcomes and formalities. When the congregation clapped for something said or during one of the songs, Isaiah put his hands together, too.

The Friedrichs Cousins

Daniel and Isaiah get a little lap time with Grandma and Grandpa Friedrichs in Massachusetts.

Pool party

The water wasn't too cool to splash around the pool at Grandpa Tascio's on Sunday.

Fun with Liz

I'm pretty sure Isaiah asked, "when can I visit Aunt Liz" last night. I might have been mistaken because I don't understand gurgled throat noises too well, but that's my translation.

Swinging with Grandma

Among the current things Isaiah finds very interesting: Swinging, watching the carousel (a little more exciting than riding), anything he can get in his mouth, bushes, trees, drainage grates he can stand on, elevator buttons, screws that hold metal plates in place, most people he meets, bicycles, brooms, fruit, whatever his parents are eating, books he can chew on, throwing things.

Daniel seems to have lost interest in his ice cream cone, but Isaiah is intrigued by the possibilities. Paul also seems to be eyeing the leftover snack.
