In church on Christmas Eve, Kateri points out the "princess" on top of the Christmas tree. Walking home, she notices the sky full of "sparkles."
New Year's Eve morning--
Mama: "What do you want for breakfast, Bernadette?"
B: "I would like buttered toast. With butter on it. Toasted, please."
M: "You want buttered toast with butter on it, toasted?"
B: "Yes. And I deserve the best."
