Kite flying at dusk
A family showed up with fishing poles and tossed out their lines. A little while later, two homemade kites appeared. We had already seen one flying incredibly high, anchored at some point farther along the shore in the park. The man got the first kite started and deftly moved it around before coaxing it higher with back and forth arm movements. Then he launched a second as his daughter and wife took turns tending the fishing line and kite line. They expertly reeled in both kites just before the last traces of the sun faded.
Tree and George Washington Bridge
As it grew darker, the George Washington Bridge across the Hudson to the south lit up.
